Art in the City was led by a group of artists from the field of Visual Arts, Music and performances in the heart of our Capital city, Port-Louis for a duration of 1 week in the beginning of March 2020. 55 Students from the School of Fine Arts under the mentorship of their lecturers produced fascinating paintings ranging from the hues of our national flag portraying our strong Mauritian cultural heritage with dashes of colors, strokes of our history through various protagonists, themes at play. 12 Paintings were produced and I was assigned the task to produce a catalogue documenting the event; a living repertoire for our existentialism as artists in Mauritius, united as one, valued for our creativity, in the busy streets of Port-Louis.
