Social Media for a cause

Social Media Campaigning course has enabled me to explore the way that disruptive technologies are changing campaigning. Then there are other factors like networks, crowds and collectives, mapping, making and big data.

My project proposal combines theory, case studies, group work and hands-on experimentation with tools and techniques, embedding a critical approach of the topic chosen. Since I have always been inclined towards social work, my first time in London, Homelessness caught my attention. The project reflects my feelings, my journey towards giving a voice, a chance to homeless people to be heard of. My first Social Media campaign was a lot of hard work, included a month of intense research work including ethnography field work, going to homeless people, cooking for the homeless care, trying to get students to work for the same cause. It was overall an enriching experience.
